Green Industrial AI Challenge 2024: The Search for Breakthroughs

On December 7, 2024, the Green Industrial AI Challenge 2024 officially concluded at VinUniversity, leaving a strong mark on the innovation community in Vietnam and internationally. With a total prize value of up to 1,000,000 USD, the competition attracted the participation of hundreds of teams with pioneering artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, offering hope for a more sustainable and greener future.

Green Industrial AI Challenge 2024 is an international initiative, organized by NATEC and partners such as Business Finland and VinUniversity, with support from many major organizations. The event is not only competitive in nature but also an opportunity for businesses, research groups, and technology enthusiasts to present their innovative solutions.

The competition went through many rigorous rounds of evaluation to find the best solutions for applying AI to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.

BeevR's role in the event

The competition featured a panel of reputable judges from Vietnam and abroad, including:

• Dr. Hoang Xuan Hien – Director of the Open Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurs Institute (OITI)
   
• Dr. Pham Hong Quat - Director of the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development, Ministry of Science and Technology
   
• Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien - Director of BeevR Technology Company
   
• Mr. Harry Hughes - Vice Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board of Saigontel 
   
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Phuong - Deputy Director of the Post-Carbon Research Center, RMIT; Associate Professor of Smart and Sustainable Engineering in Construction & Infrastructure at the School of Engineering, RMIT University

BeevR, together with the other panel members, established the scoring criteria based on:

• Creativity and breakthrough potential.
• Practical application and deployment capability.
• Environmental and economic effectiveness.

Final results and impressive solutions

With demanding requirements for breakthrough products and ideas, the teams had to meet the criteria of the competition and were divided into 2 different tracks.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The submitted product may be a domestic or international product.

• The submitted product must integrate artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to solve problems in the following three areas:

  • AgroGreen solutions

  • Smart industrial innovation

  • Green urban living innovation.

• The participant must be the owner of the submitted product or solution.

• Participants must comply with the specific requirements set out in the two tables below:

Track 1:

• This track is designed specifically for teams with initiatives, solutions, or products that have been tested and proven to have initial effectiveness (at least TRL 4 ) and that solve specific market problems in the 3 areas mentioned above.

• Teams with a business model, a product on the market, and revenue have an advantage.

Track 2:

• This track welcomes teams with ideas or research to solve problems in the 3 areas mentioned above.

• Teams whose ideas or research have been developed into a prototype product have an advantage.
