EcoCheck for ChatGPT and Claude — documentation
EcoCheck is a greenhouse-gas (GHG) inventory and EU CBAM platform used by Vietnamese manufacturers, exporters and their consultants. The EcoCheck connector lets ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants read and update the user's EcoCheck data — record activity data, build ISO 14064-1 and Decree 06/2022 inventories, compute EU CBAM costs and embedded emissions — with the same permissions the user has on ecocheck.ai.

ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT → Settings → Apps (Connectors). Find EcoCheck in the directory, or create a custom connector with the URL above (Developer mode).
- Click Connect, sign in with your EcoCheck account and approve the requested access.
- In a chat, ask for example: “List my EcoCheck workspaces”.
Claude (claude.ai, desktop, mobile)
- Settings → Connectors → Browse connectors → EcoCheck, or Add custom connector with
https://ecocheck.ai/mcp/account. - Click Connect and sign in with your EcoCheck account.
Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients
claude mcp add --transport http ecocheck https://ecocheck.ai/mcp/account, then run /mcp and sign in. Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth works the same way.
Authentication and permissions
- Sign-in happens on EcoCheck's own login page (AWS Cognito). The AI assistant never sees the user's password; it receives a short-lived access token (1 hour) and a refresh token (7 days).
- Scopes:
ecocheck/read(read-only) andecocheck/write(create and update). The user chooses when connecting. - The workspace owner controls AI access in EcoCheck → Workspace → AI assistant: turn AI on or off for the whole workspace and set each member's level — View only (default), View and edit, or Full access (delete records, manage members). Effective rights are the lower of the token scope, the member's AI level and the member's own role in EcoCheck.
- Every tool call is written to the workspace audit log (who, which tool, when, allowed or refused), which the owner can filter and export as CSV.
- The owner can disconnect AI for one member or for the whole workspace at any time; existing tokens stop working immediately.
- Destructive tools (
delete_records,remove_member) are annotated as destructive and require an explicitconfirmargument.

Example prompts
- “Record September data for the rolling mill: electricity 182,400 kWh, diesel for the generator 1,250 litres, LPG 3.2 tonnes.”
- “What are our 2026 emissions by scope so far? Which source is the largest?”
- “How much CBAM would an EU importer pay for 12,000 t of hot-rolled coil, CN 7208 39 00, in 2026?”
- “Prepare the Q1 ISO 14064-1 inventory report and export it as Word.”
- “Who in our workspace can use AI, and what did the assistant change this week?” (workspace owner)
Troubleshooting
- “AGENT_LEVEL_TOO_LOW”: the workspace owner set your AI level to View only. Ask them to raise it.
- “AGENT_SCOPE_TOO_LOW”: you connected read-only. Disconnect and reconnect EcoCheck, allowing changes.
- “AGENT_AGENTS_DISABLED” / “AGENT_DISCONNECTED”: AI was turned off or your connection was revoked by the owner.
- No organizations returned: you are not a member of any organization in that workspace; the organization owner manages membership.
