Product carbon footprint software under ISO 14067.
Calculate kg CO₂e for each product from its bill of materials, reuse your inventory and CBAM data, and export a PCF report, a draft EPD and a PACT file for EU customers. Life cycle assessment (LCA) under ISO 14040/14044 with multiple impact indicators.
- A1–A3Materials and productionMaterials, energy, on-site emissions
- A4Transport to customerRoad, sea, air
- BUseEnergy in use, if any
- CEnd of lifeCollection, recycling, landfill, incineration

Cradle-to-gate = A1–A3. Cradle-to-grave = A1 to C, plus D where relevant.
From bill of materials to PCF report
A product carbon footprint is the greenhouse gas emissions over the life cycle of one unit of product, in kg CO₂e. EcoCheck calculates it under ISO 14067 and records the boundary, data and methods so customers and verifiers can check them.
Product model from your BOM
Import your bill of materials from Excel, EcoSpold2, SimaPro CSV or openLCA JSON-LD; split into processes, inputs and co-products. Templates for rolled steel, die-cast aluminium, corrugated boxes.
Reuse data you already have
Pull energy and fuels from the facility GHG inventory, embedded emissions (SEE) from the CBAM file, and supplier PCFs shared in PACT format, each figure traced to its source.
Open background data and methods
Background data from USLCI, LCA Commons, Agribalyse 3.2 and Vietnamese factors (such as the 2024 grid factor). Impact methods: IPCC 2021 (AR6), EF 3.1, ReCiPe 2016, CML-IA, TRACI 2.2, IMPACT World+.
Know how reliable the result is
Data quality rating (DQR, pedigree matrix), Monte Carlo uncertainty ranges and sensitivity analysis to see which inputs drive the result.
Compare design options
Parameters, formulas and scenarios: change scrap share, power source or packaging and compare with the base design. Mass, economic or causal allocation; Circular Footprint Formula for recycled content.
Reports and files for customers
ISO 14067 PCF report (Word, Vietnamese or English), draft EPD, ILCD+EPD file, PACT file for EU customers, export back to SimaPro, EcoSpold2 and openLCA.
A PCF in 4 steps
- 01
Product and boundary
Declared unit (1 kg, 1 piece, 1 m²…), cradle-to-gate or cradle-to-grave.
- 02
Enter materials and energy
Import the BOM from Excel or start from a sector template; link power and fuels from the plant inventory.
- 03
Pick factors and calculate
Each input gets a background dataset or supplier figure; see results by stage and input, with uncertainty ranges.
- 04
Finalise and share
Lock the result, download the ISO 14067 report, draft EPD or PACT file for customers.
EU or Japanese buyers asking for kg CO₂e? Answer with evidence.
- ISO 14067 PCF report in Vietnamese or English
- PACT file that loads straight into the customer’s system
- Shares data with your CBAM file (steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers)
- Every figure traced to an invoice, the inventory, a supplier or a background dataset
FAQ
What is a product carbon footprint (PCF)?
A product carbon footprint is the sum of greenhouse gas emissions and removals over the life cycle of one unit of product, in kg CO₂ equivalent, for example kg CO₂e per kg of steel or per carton. It is calculated under ISO 14067. A facility GHG inventory (Decree 06/2022/ND-CP, ISO 14064-1) covers a whole plant for a year instead.
How do LCA, PCF and EPD differ?
LCA covers many environmental impacts under ISO 14040/14044. A PCF covers climate change only, under ISO 14067. An EPD publishes LCA results under ISO 14025 and the product category rules (PCR); construction products also follow EN 15804. An EPD must be checked by an independent verifier and registered with an EPD programme operator.
Can EcoCheck produce an EPD right away?
EcoCheck produces an LCA report, a draft EPD and an ILCD+EPD file from the product model. To become a published EPD, the draft still needs independent verification (the verifier will ask for the plant’s source data) and registration with an EPD programme operator. EcoCheck is not certified as a tool by any programme operator; tool certification is not required.
What do we send when an EU customer asks for a PCF? Is it linked to CBAM?
Customers usually want kg CO₂e per unit with the method, or a file in the PACT exchange format. EcoCheck exports both an ISO 14067 report and a PACT file. CBAM instead uses specific embedded emissions (SEE) under EU rules, only for iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity; EcoCheck calculates SEE in its CBAM module and reuses it in the PCF.
What data do we need for a PCF?
The bill of materials for one unit, electricity and fuel used in production, output volumes, transport distances and modes, and end-of-life treatment if you go cradle-to-grave. Missing data is filled with background datasets and disclosed in the report.
Which plan includes PCF?
PCF and LCA are included in the Pro+ plan and in a dedicated PCF plan. Contact EcoCheck for a quote based on the number of products.
